After finishing his schooling, Frank returned to South Africa to undertake an intensive safari guide training program. It was during this period he met Gesa (his partner) with whom he shares many adventures. He has more than two decades of experience as a safari guide in Big Five terrain. Frank specializes in photographic safaris and birding safaris. Frank is a co-founder of SAFARI FRANK, a family-run business founded by members of the Steenhuisen family. Within the SAFARI FRANK team, his title includes Safari Guide and Safari Planner, and he is considered the company’s resident wildlife photography expert. He contributes content (blog posts) for the company, especially on safari photography, conservation, and wildlife.

Frank is part of the Steenhuisen family: his parents are Johan and Welna; his siblings include Karin. The family has been involved in SAFARI FRANK, bringing together their love of Africa and safari lifestyle.
