King Adder is an homage to ''Generation 1'' Iguanus made by Play With This Too as part of their Lost Protectors series.

Desolataur was designed by Steve Redinger.

The head for King Adder was designed by [[Emiliano Santalucia]] to look like a bush viper. The tail was designed by Albie Lim. Play With This Too first put art of the head on the Facebook page in February 2015.<REF>https://www.facebook.com/PWTToo/photos/a.292919947560869.1073741828.264887950364069/350694175116779/?type=1&theater</REF>

In February 2015 Play With This Too released images of the prototype for Desolataur, which included parts used on King Adder.

Sir Pythanore and King Adder were among the stretch goals for the unsuccessful Lost Protectors Kickstarter campaign from March 2015. They were to be unlocked if the campaign raised at least $125,000.<REF>https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/44339820/play-with-this-too-lost-protectors</REF>
