Tejashwi Yadav was born on 9 November 1989 in Gopalganj, Bihar, to [[Lalu Prasad Yadav]] and Rabri Devi. Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi are parents of Tejashwi Yadav. After completing his elementary education at Delhi Public School in Vasant Vihar, he went on to DPS R.K. ===Cricket Career===
Tejashwi Yadav played professional cricket before going into politics. He played with Virat Kohli and Ishant Sharma for Delhi's U-15, U-17, and U-19 teams. He signed with the Delhi Daredevils (IPL) in 2008, but he never played a game.

He participated in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy while playing for the state team of Jharkhand. In 2013, he gave up cricket to pursue a career in politics.

===Political Career===
In 2010, Tejashwi started his political career by running for the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). He was elected as a Raghopur MLA in 2015 and was appointed Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar in the Mahagathbandhan government, which was led by Nitish Kumar.
He was the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly following the 2020 elections.
