Jeffrey Donald Schwerdt (born November 28, 1977), widely known as Jeff Herschy, is an American entrepreneur and former United States Air Force F-16 instructor pilot. He is the founder and chief executive officer of Reviewly.ai and the founder of Response Engine. He holds a patent-pending invention in direct mail and digital marketing automation and has worked as a consultant for marketing agencies and growth-stage companies.

Throughout his career, he has built and operated multiple software platforms, completed a private equity exit, and developed systems used by thousands of small businesses and agencies.

Early life and education

Jeffrey Donald Schwerdt was born in Livingston, New Jersey, and grew up on the Jersey Shore. He developed an early interest in flying and athletics. At seventeen he began formal flight training after convincing his mother that aviation was his true path.

He attended Southern Regional High School in Manahawkin, New Jersey, graduating in 1996. During high school he ran cross country, competed in track and basketball, and continued his flying lessons while working part-time. His dedication to aviation earned him a full ROTC scholarship for college.

He completed a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University from 1996 to 2000. Afterward, he underwent two years of U.S. Air Force pilot training and graduated as a Distinguished Graduate from F-16 training.

Military career

Following training, Herschy became a mission-qualified F-16 fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force. He served as a wingman, flight lead, mission commander, and instructor pilot, logging nearly one thousand flight hours in the F-16.

His military service ended in 2007 after a significant back injury, surgery, and rehabilitation. Unable to return to flight status, he was medically retired, which led him toward entrepreneurship.

Career

After leaving the Air Force, Herschy began learning online marketing, systems, and business operations. Starting with local business clients, he transitioned into digital marketing, funnel building, and software development.

Reputation Loop

In 2014 he co-founded Reputation Loop, a reputation management platform for local businesses and agencies. The company grew within the local marketing industry and was acquired by the private equity firm Alpine SG in January 2019 as part of a portfolio consolidation.

Social Rotation

Between 2020 and 2024 Herschy co-founded Social Rotation, a platform offering ready-made social media content and publishing tools. It was acquired by a private buyer in 2024.

Response Engine

Herschy later established Response Engine, an automation platform linking direct mail with SMS marketing using personalized QR technology. The system is built around a patent-pending process he created to bridge offline and online engagement.

Reviewly.ai

In 2022 he founded Reviewly.ai, a platform built to help small businesses and agencies generate and respond to Google reviews more efficiently. The system combines SMS workflows with physical review devices such as NFC plates, QR cards, and smart stickers. Reviewly.ai also offers a white-label version for agencies. Herschy oversees product design, system architecture, and partnerships.

Consulting and leadership

Beyond his software ventures, Herschy has produced training programs and systems used across the marketing and SaaS sectors. His frameworks for automation, revenue operations, and agency delivery have been adopted through courses, workshops, and software platforms. He continues advising SaaS founders and enterprise teams through Jeff Herschy LLC.

Personal life

Jeff Herschy lives in San Diego, California. He is married and has two children and two stepchildren. His interests include golf, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and playing video games with his son and wife. He has taken part in charitable efforts both in the United States and previously in Cabo San Lucas.
