Shahin Alam (Bengali: কবি শাহিন আলম) is a Bangladeshi poet, lyricist, composer, actor, blogger, and YouTuber. He is recognized for his contributions to Bengali literature and music, particularly in the genres of folk, Islamic nasheeds, and Sylheti songs. In June 2025, he was appointed as the Advisor to the CEO of Bhikitia, a multilingual, community-driven online encyclopedia based in Bangladesh.

Early Life and Education

Shahin Alam was born on December 31, 1997, in Ghasitula, Lamapara, Sylhet, Bangladesh. He is the second child of his parents, Shahna Begum and Abdur Rowf. His early education began in religious studies, where he learned Arabic and Bengali at a local mosque's Maktab. He continued his studies at Brihattar Ghasitula Jamia Islamia Alim Madrasa and later attended UCEP Ghasitula School, completing his primary education in 2015. He pursued higher secondary education in the science department at Sylhet Government Technical School & College, graduating in 2020.

Career

Shahin Alam's artistic journey began with writing poems and rhymes during his childhood. His first poem, "Prativa," was published in the local newspaper *Agravani Pratidin*. He later joined the literary organization "Hillful Fuzul Sahitya Kanan-Hifusaka," where he served as the legal editor. Currently, he is a former member of the organization.

In the realm of music, Shahin Alam made his debut with the song "Koliza Angar," released under the Assam-based music label Matir Khacha. His subsequent song, "Tumar Photo," sung by UK-based artist Akik Haroon, gained popularity on platforms like TikTok and YouTube. He has since composed and written numerous songs, including "Ontor Korli Sai," "Mone Jokhon Jhor Othe," and "Mazir Dukher Sangsar," collaborating with various artists across Bangladesh, India, and the UK.

In addition to his musical endeavors, Shahin Alam has ventured into acting, appearing in several short films and dramas. His film debut was in "Bidhoba: The Widow," directed by GM Furukh, where he played the role of the sister's brother.

Role at Bhikitia

In June 2025, Shahin Alam was appointed as the Advisor to the CEO of Bhikitia. In this capacity, he provides strategic guidance to the Chief Executive Officer on leadership, program direction, and operational improvements. His role involves offering counsel on leadership challenges, program development, and optimizing day-to-day operations to fulfill Bhikitia’s mission.
