Wiktionary is a multilingual, web-based project to create a free content dictionary of all words in all languages. It is one of the sister projects of Wikipedia and is hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation. Wiktionary aims to describe all words and phrases, including their meanings, etymologies, pronunciations, translations, and usage examples.

Wiktionary was launched on December 12, 2002, as an extension of the Wikipedia project.[1]
