England is a country that is part of the United Kingdom, located on the southern part of the island of Great Britain. It shares borders with Scotland to the north and Wales to the west, and is surrounded by the North Sea, the English Channel, the Celtic Sea, and the Irish Sea. The capital city, London, is a major global financial and cultural center.
