Abrar Fahad (February 12, 1998 – October 7, 2019) was a second-year student of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). In 2019, he was brutally beaten to death by some leaders of the BUET unit of the Bangladesh Chhatra League after posting a critical status on Facebook regarding several agreements signed during Sheikh Hasina's visit to India.[1]

The autopsy report confirmed that Abrar Fahad was beaten to death with blunt objects.[2] In 2025, he was posthumously awarded Bangladesh's highest civilian honor, the Independence Award.[3][4]
