The Chairman of Bhikitia is the highest-ranking official and supreme governing authority of Bhikitia, a multilingual, community-driven online encyclopedia based in Bangladesh. The Chairman holds the ultimate responsibility for the organization’s governance, strategic vision, and overall direction.

Role and responsibilities

As Chairman, the individual oversees Bhikitia’s governance framework, including financial stewardship, executive appointments, and long-term planning. The Chairman is responsible for maintaining the organization’s mission to provide free and accessible knowledge in multiple languages, especially focusing on underrepresented languages and cultures.

In addition to governance, the Chairman plays a key role in appointing members of the Bhikitia Authority, the executive leadership team that manages day-to-day operations and strategic implementation.

Current chairman

As of June 2025, Parvej Husen Talukder serves as the Chairman of Bhikitia. He is the founder of the platform and has been instrumental in establishing Bhikitia’s vision and expanding its reach as a free online encyclopedia dedicated to multilingual content.

History

The role of Chairman was established with the founding of Bhikitia in October 2024. Since then, the Chairman has remained central to the organization’s leadership and has guided Bhikitia through key structural changes, including the renaming of the Bhikitia Council to the Bhikitia Authority in 2025 to strengthen governance and executive oversight.
