Brad Romeo Hodge (born Romeo Pablo Strater in 1980) is an American filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist known for his work in independent film, documentary production, television, music video and visual art. He has worked as a director since 2006 and has used both Brad Hodge and Romeo Strater as professional names.[1]
Born in Los Angeles, California, Hodge later became associated with the creative community in St. Louis, Missouri. His early filmmaking activities included a documentary project about Gypsy poets in Budapest. After securing a grant for the project, he continued producing independent work and eventually became involved in Hollywood film production.[2]
Hodge's directing career has included productions across documentary, drama, experimental cinema, television and short-form video. His credits include Survival of the Fittest, West of Ventura, Clock Out, Kaleidoscope, Vintage Vinyl Roadshow, Room 105 and Goodbye Pearl.
Before devoting much of his professional career to filmmaking, Hodge spent approximately 15 years in literary publishing. During this period, he worked with Barney Rosset, the influential publisher associated with Grove Press. He also collaborated with the Museum of Modern Art on work involving the completion of Samuel Beckett's final work.
Career
Hodge entered filmmaking in the 2000s and began accumulating directing credits in 2006. His early projects included Dictatorship of taste, followed by Dengue Boys and Mosquito Kingdom.
In 2010, he directed Survival of the Fittest. During the following decade, he continued producing independent films and other screen projects, including West of Ventura and Clock Out, both released in 2014. His later work included Kaleidoscope, Ring River, One More Notch and The Rise of Cryptocurrency.
Hodge has also directed projects connected with music, popular culture and experimental filmmaking. His television-related credits include Romeo 1984 and The Product show, while his more recent work has included short films and independent productions.

Early filmmaking
Hodge was born in Los Angeles in 1980 and began developing his interests in cinema and the arts at an early stage of his career. His first significant documentary work focused on Gypsy poets in Budapest.
