GoSun is an American company that develops portable solar-powered appliances.[1] The company is mainly known for its solar powered cooking stoves.[2][3][4][5]
Overview
GoSun was founded by Patrick Sherwin in 2013.[6][7][8][9] The company is based in Cincinnati, Ohio.[10][11][12][13]
In 2013, GoSun launched its first product, the GoSun Stove, on Kickstarter. The company has since expanded its product lineup to include other solar powered devices including water filters, refrigerators, cooking grills, electric boats and electric vehicle chargers. [14][15][16][17][18][19]
In October 2019, the company raised USD $1.1 million in a Series A round.[20]
In July 2024, GoSun crowd launched a Solar EV Charger which reportedly pre-sold for $1 million.[21]
GoSun Flow
The GoSun Flow is a portable solar-powered water purifier and sanitation station developed by GoSun. Designed to be compact and lightweight, the GoSun Flow fits easily into a backpack, making it ideal for outdoor activities such as camping and hiking. The device features a high-performance filter capable of removing 99.99% of pathogens, including viruses, ensuring access to clean water in remote locations.[22]
The Flow includes a versatile all-in-one case that houses a faucet, pump, filter, and solar panel. The pump, which is USB-compatible and can be powered by a solar-charged battery or a phone charger, can purify up to one liter of water per minute. The filter system incorporates a polypropylene filter disc, a high-efficiency carbon filter, and a nano aluminum fiber filter, with a lifespan of 1,000 liters before needing replacement.
Additionally, the GoSun Flow offers an optional heating upgrade with a smart thermometer for warm showers and a "Flex Faucet" with a removable clamp for versatile attachment. This innovation reflects GoSun's commitment to providing practical and sustainable solutions for outdoor water purification and sanitation.
