Walmart is an American supermarket chain store, which began trading in 1962. It was founded by Sam Walton, who had previously run his own store, known as "Sam's 5 & 10" (referring to the cost of goods, 5¢ and 10¢) in Bentonville, Arkansas. He opened the first Walmart store officially on July 2nd, 1962. Walmart also owns the British supermarket chain ASDA.
