simple:Dominion of Pakistan The Dominion of Pakistan (Bengali: পাকিস্তান অধিরাজ্য ) was an independent federal dominion in the British Commonwealth of Nations.[1] It was created on August 14, 1947, when British India was divided into two new sovereign states: India and Pakistan. The Dominion of Pakistan included modern-day Pakistan (then called West Pakistan) and Bangladesh (then called East Pakistan).[2]

Government

The Dominion of Pakistan was a constitutional monarchy with a federal parliamentary system. The head of state was the British monarch, represented in Pakistan by the Governor-General. The first Governor-General was Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who is also known as the founder of Pakistan. The first Prime Minister was Liaquat Ali Khan.[3]
